Are you exhausted, sleep deprived and frustrated that your child will not sleep? Did you know that sleep problems occurring in infancy often persist for 3-5 years? That is a long time to go without sleep. If you are looking for answers on how to get your child to sleep through the night and get your own sleep back then you’ve come to the right place. As a certified paediatric sleep consultant, I offer gentile sleep solutions through education and tools that will help end those sleepless nights and get everyone in your house feeling rested!

Philosophy

 

Our children are our world and we want nothing but the best for them and that should include their sleep!

 

As a certified sleep consultant and from personal experience, I strongly believe that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children and parents. A well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful, and eager to learn. A well-rested parent will have an increased attention span, feel more physically relaxed and mentally alert to handle those day to day parent duties.

As your child’s “sleep coach,” you put a great deal of trust in me and I want you to know that I take that responsibility very seriously. All children are different, and nobody knows your child better than you do. Working closely with families I make sure that your child’s sleep plan is tailored to fit your family lifestyle.

My approach to improving your child’s sleep is pretty simple:

 
  • I will EDUCATE you with honest information about WHY sleep is so important for your child’s well-being. This will help motivate you to make those changes to your child’s sleep habits because it truly is what’s best for your child!

  • I will DELIVER an easy-to-follow, personalized step-by-step plan that uses approaches that work best for your child. No one knows your child better than you do and I encourage you to share your knowledge to help customize his or her sleep plan.

  • I will COMMUNICATE how to measure sleep success and be right there with you along the way letting you know what to expect.

  • I will SUPPORT and be your biggest cheerleader along your child’s sleep journey. Navigating parenthood isn’t easy, I come free of judgement and full of knowledge to help guide you and your family to restful nights. My goal is to make families feel safe and comfortable throughout the sleep plan process.

 The most commonly asked question is do I use the Cry it Out Method?

 

The short answer is NO; however, crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. That’s why I’m always sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve at least some amount of protest on the child’s part.

Please understand that I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. My method is by no means a “cry it out” approach. The reason that my techniques are so effective is that it lets you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.
